Foundation Workshop - Training for Professionals
Makaton for Professionals training is recommended for participants who need a more detailed knowledge about using and applying Makaton to develop the communication
The Foundation Workshop provides a detailed introduction to Makaton and combines a practical approach with theory and technical information. You will learn the signs and symbols for Stages 1-4 and Additional of the Core Vocabulary.
It covers 4 modules over 2 days, for 6 hours per day. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
Attendees will receive four workshop manuals, Pocket Book of Signs 1 and Pocket Book of Symbols 1.
This provides a practical introductory workshop for people who need to use Makaton in everyday situations. Signing instruction is given for Core Vocabulary Stages 1-4 and Additional. Makaton symbols are
included and examples of their use are given. Methods for implementing and using Makaton are discussed and developed.

People who need to use Makaton signing or symbols at home or in their work.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will:
• Have an ability to sign in everyday situations
• Know the Core Vocabulary Stages 1-4
• Know when to use Makaton symbols
• Have an understanding of implementing Makaton
